The Fastest Way To Make Money Online With Your Dog Business

The much anticipated series…How To Make Money Online with Your Dog Business is officially open!

We are going to take you through a simple step by step process of making your first $1000 online.  If you don’t have a website yet - no worries.  This is really simple stuff.  You won’t have much of a learning curve at all.

The most important piece of this lesson is to just do it.  Once the money starts coming in you will be free to tweak and learn and refine.  For now, it is all about getting started online fast.

The very first step is to find something you want to sell. I know that might seem obvious, but the internet is full of websites people built to make money with that have absolutely no monetization strategy at all.

First, pick a product you want to sell.

It can be some information product like a “how to groom your dog” book or video (it doesn’t have to be your own creation! It can be a video or book you have created or something you intend to create in the near future or someone else’s product - we’ll talk about that soon); or it can be some physical item, like a dog toy,  dog food or a dog bed.

All that matters is that you choose a product people want to buy.

No rocket science here!

Do not be afraid of choosing the wrong product. This is all about getting started fast.  It is more important to start making money than it is to pick the perfect product or create the perfect video.  Besides, there just isn’t a thing as perfection.

Getting it done.  Making the decision is the most important step here.

So, pick something you know something about, something you use, something you purchased that you can recommend to someone else.  Which means, a product you actually like and can feel good about endorsing.

Who’s Running Your Dog Business?

Yesterday’s tweet was intended to get you thinking a bit about who you think you are and what you think you are capable of. We’ve all heard that mindset is 90% of the journey, hard work and talent is the other 10%.

Whatever you believe about yourself, who you are, what you are capable of, what you deserve - is reflected in your business success. Your clients, prospects, employees and yes, even the dogs you care for detect and reflect your beliefs.

Don’t believe me? Go watch and episode or two of the Dog Whisperer.

If you knew you couldn’t fail. If you knew the work you are doing in your dog business was serving a greater good. If you knew the power behind your lofty intentions…you would probably be running your business a little differently.

Ask yourself if fear and limitations run your business or if possibilities, creativity and and inspiration run your pet care business.

Owning A Dog - Means Caring and Controlling!

Business Owner - it is our responsibility to help our clients care for and learn to control their dogs.

I am sure I am going to get some push back…I always do when I talk about taking responsibility for “other peoples” actions.  That is insane, isn’t it?

Its not insane, actually, it is a wide held belief of many many personal empowerment leaders.  It is my belief and that of some of the wealthiest people on the planet that we create our own reality. 

This means a combination of taking responsibility for our own actions, for actions of others toward us and even more difficult for most of us to swallow…responsible for our part of the actions of all.

If you can get to a place of taking responsibility, not blame, but responsibility for all areas of your life and business, including the behavior of your clients’ dogs…your business will take on a life of its own.

Change your belief about what your thoughts and actions are able to impact and your power as a pet care professional, as a person is magnified 100’s, 1000’s times over.  Imagine the ideal client and the ideal dog - take responsibility for creating both and witness the seeming miraculous changes right before your eyes.

Try an experiment with your next disgruntled customer.  It is easier to do when first practicing taking 100% responsibility for many people if the client is not right in front of us.

If you get an angry e-mail or phone call it is usually easier to keep our emotions and ego from taking over.   In your own mind, just ask yourself what you did to create this “fill in the blank” whatever the emotion is your client is expressing.

Are they angry?  Distrustful?  Whatever they are expressing, ask yourself what is in you that created that reaction in your client?  It may be an instance where you are holding anger about someone or something completely unrelated to this client.

It could be that you are holding onto a fear that the job you accepted with this client is something that is causing you to doubt your own abilities.  Your client can feel your doubt and that is what is coming back to you.

Remember, your world is just a mirror of what is inside of you.  This is what we mean when we say - responsibility.  You’ve heard the saying, squeeze an orange and you get orange juice.

Well, when you get “squeezed” or put under pressure, what comes out must be what you are…nothing else is possible.  If you are fearful…it will come out.  If you are completely at peace and filled with love - there is nothing else that can come out.

An orange can not produce pineapple juice…its just not possible to “create” something in the physical world that is not inside us spiritually.

So, owning a dog care business means caring for and controlling our clients’ dogs.  We do that by controlling ourselves.  There really is nothing and no one else that needs to be controlled. 

Once we change our thoughts and beliefs and thereby control our inner world, everything in our outer world changes too.

This is Unity dog marketing at its core.

First To Market

We have all heard the marketing adage that first to market is always going to be the biggest. That is true with respect to products, services or marketing strategies.  The biggest translates to market domination over market share and profitability.

We talk a lot about the importance of providing the highest quality service to your pet care clients and we don’t want you to confuse what we are about to say in any way. The strategy we are about to discuss in no way means we are endorsing a compromise in the quality of care you provide for the pets entrusted to you.

Having said that, the marketing world, the creative world, the universe…likes speed.

When you get an idea for a new product, service or marketing campaign take immediate action.  You do not need to wait for the idea to manifest in all its perfection before you launch.

Get the ball rolling fast, release the product or campaign when it is good enough.  You will be able to tweak and improve on it as you go along.

The interesting thing about the long term results of adopting this strategy is not only does it guarantee your business success, it saves you so much time in the long run.  There is a compounding effect you begin to see when you implement strategies with lightening speed.

When we look at successful business owners in all areas of commerce we notice those who thrive are the ones who are able to take quick action on their ideas.  The most successful business owners are the agile ones who are first to market with their ideas.

Now, when I say first to market, I don’t mean you have to invent or create something entirely new.  You may just be improving on something already in existence in your market or borrowing a concept from another market and adapting it to your pet care business.

When I say that you will save time…consider the process you go through when you create a new product or service.

How do you determine exactly what you include in that product/service?  If you are connected with your customer base and a savvy business owner (we know you are since you are reading Dog Business Daily) - you will get ideas from your customers.

Many times the idea and direction you had originally envisioned takes a different turn after you see the response from your prospects and customers.

When you produce a product or marketing campaign and get it out to market quickly, you will save time because you didn’t waste time creating something your market didn’t want.  You don’t waste time thinking about what’s next, all the different nuances and layers you might add to the idea - that ultimately may have been scrapped anyway.

The layers and direction will naturally come from the feedback you receive from your clients and prospects.  You can make revisions, updates and improvements faster because you are starting lean to begin with.

No revamping clunky and complicated processes….add on, tweak, re-market….profit and grow!

If you are still resisting producing a “less than perfect” product or service…let’s take a look at the most successful product on the planet (outside of life sustaining necessitites and mind altering substances - who can compete with those?)!

Microsoft Windows.

If you are not into technology, you might have to ask around to find out if this is widely held belief or not - but everyone on the planet knows that Apple makes a better operating system than Microsoft.

If quality is the most important factor to a products success then why do recent statistics show Microsoft controlling 97.46 % of the global desktop operating system marked, compared to a measely 1.43 % for Apple Macintosh?

Somewhere back around 1982 in that garage Steve Jobs and Bill Gates disagreed about the direction for their new product.  I could hear it now, Steve “it’s not even close to being ready” ; Bill “we have to release it now!”

*disclaimer: this conversation is fictional…and the story of Bill & Steve parting ways is not intended to be historically accurate.  I am using the example to illustrate my point and am taking “creative liberty” for brevity.

They parted ways, Bill stole the idea and ran with it.  This part is actual fact - Gates released the launch announcement a full two years prior to the operating system actually shipping. Of course it was scheduled to ship within a few months of the original announcement.

Hmmm, hasn’t seems like we’ve seen a similar pattern with every launch since?

My point is many of the strategies we will teach you are going to be new to you. Chances are pretty darn good they ideas are going to be entirely new to your market.  The first one to grab the idea and run with it in your market wins.

If you take massive action and implement the ideas we give you - not only will your business flourish and you will be establishing yourself as the “guru” and your business as the ”go to business” in your market segment. 

When you attain “guru” status - business becomes incredibly fun and profitable.  Clients are attracted to you without any effort on your part.  The best employees want to work for you.  You are solidifying your business for the long term.

If you choose at some point to sell your business you are building the kind of value that makes  a small business  a gold mine.

Decide right now, when you come across a brilliant idea - most likely you will hear it from me :-) …you are going to get into action immediately and put the strategy into effect for your business.  Do this a few times and …look out - there is a new sheriff in town!

There is Only 1 Thing I Need To Fix For Prosperity to Flow Into My Life!

There is only 1 thing I need to fix and that is me!

I hope you will hear this as “you”.

I have a very dear friend of mine who is involved in an unhealthy relationship - I won’t get into the details because I don’t want her situation to distract you from looking at yourself. What I want you to know about her relationship is that she is hoping, praying and searching for solutions to HIS problem…she just knows how great their life will be when he can overcome this 1 thing in his life.

Well guess what, we all do the same thing. If you honestly stand back and observe yourself today - you will notice how much energy and time we invest in judging other people and situations. When all we really need to do is focus on ourselves for the whole world to improve.

You’ve heard the saying from the New Testament, Matthew 7:5: “You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye”.

If each one of us spent more time looking inside for the solutions to our problems the outside world would begin to change on its own. It is a proven fact that we get what we think about and what we look for. If we are constantly focused on repairing the problems of those around us (or repairing those around us) we will continue to attract problems and people with problems.

If instead we choose to look inside and start improving ourselves we will attract the improvement we are seeking. We start to notice change everywhere we look because we only see what we are looking for. Remember how you never noticed that Jaguar XKR until you decided you wanted to buy one (or whatever car you drive or fantasize about driving).

You can’t see what is not a part of your reality…so make joy and prosperity a part of your mental reality and it has no choice to become a part of your physical reality.

This translates to all parts of your life. In our businesses - if we are struggling with difficult customers or employees - don’t try to fix them. Look only within to see what it is we are doing to attract such a person or to elicit the behavior and work on cleaning up yourself. When you practice this - it seems like magic happens…trouble employees and clients either change their behavior or leave you and new, w wonderful people enter your life.

Try it - your prosperity and joy depend on you!

PS…Oh Yeah, You can’t change anyone else anyway - why not spend your time and energy on something you CAN control - YOU!
